Snows of the North Green Hatchling Andiacuth

While thyme green may lay claim to the end of this green's flattened face, it is moss that springs forth as new life, sweeping upwards between her eyes, gathering thickly over eyeridges and clinging to her short headknobs. Pale mossy hues continue to work their way down her rather short, thick neck, billowing out to stretch down her back, curl around the rounded form of her torso, and tickle her haunches. Darker markings of oregano green appear on her sides, short streaks here and there, before it claims her belly completely and moves on to take claim of her short tail as well. Even her short limbs are not spared by the herby take over, though ebony lays claim to her curve talons. Oregano ridges, small and rounded, slip down her back like wind-cut snow drifts, cutting between her large wings. While moss spars support the large sails, it is a thyme-green pattern that resides upon them, speckled from top to bottom, giving her a mottled appearance as her wings remain folded to her back.

Friends or Strangers Egg

Captured in deepest shadow, even when it should be well lit, this egg sits alone and forlorn. It carries a dichotomy of colors, warm soft browns and cool misty greys that turn and twist across the surface, marking it both friend and foe in those random swirls. Eventually though, one must win and the eventual occupant shall be perhaps both, or perhaps neither?

Impression Message

A cool wind blows through your thoughts, tickling your senses and bringing with it a sense of coming winter. Crisp air pulls you away from the hatching sands, while pale flurries interrupt the smooth blue curtain that curls around you. « Devi. » And something seems to hold you in place, drawing you in, causing you to freeze. « Devi. I am Andiacuth, and I am yours. You are mine. » Slowly the wind subsides and there's a gnawing sense of need. « I am so hungry, Devi. Can we eat, Devi? »

Personality

From the beginning, something will seem a little different about Andiacuth; something will separate your green from the other dragons in her clutch. From the very beginning, it will become evident that what matters to you is what matters to Andiacuth; the green's interest is in you, her flights, and anyone you should choose to be involved with. As you develop bonds with your classmates and your wingmates, her bonds with them will begin to grow as well, though in the end, it will always come back to you.

Andiacuth knows that you are her person, her lifemate, and that she needs you and you need her. She'll be there always, loyal to the very end, and any choices she makes are for you and your safety and well-being. She'll never criticize, never strive to hurt you - and she'll go along with any of your ideas, albeit after a long, measuring look to make you think. After all, if you're going to do it anyway, she should be there to protect you the best she can. And, no matter how it all turns out in the end, she'll be there to help you pick up the pieces without even a whisper of 'I told you so'. Andiacuth will do anything you ask of her, whether its pushing herself through a longer stretch of threadfall or attempting some daring rescue - all in an attempt to make you happy, make you proud of her, and make you two stronger together.

Physically, Andiacuth tends to be rather awkward on the ground, and your green prefers to spend her time on the ground moving as little as possible in order to avoid this odd type of movement as much as possible. As she grows, you'll have to urge her to keep up with the group, and shoo her across the bowl from the barracks to the lake, and wherever else you may need to go. However, once she begins to fly, it will be as if a whole new world opened up - she was born to fly, and from the very beginning she will excel at it. She'll be quick to progress through training, and she'll seem to have a natural understanding of how to pull off even the most intricate of flight patterns by the time she graduates. After you've graduated, she'll be thrilled when she spends time aloft, and she'll spend much of her time on the ground perched on a ledge somewhere, peering down at the bowl below.

When Andiacuth hunts, she prefers to drop down on the animals from above, often knocking them over before carting them off - should she be able to lift them. She'll have no qualms eating anything she can, and should she come across a large fish, or even a small animal, she'll likely attempt to eat it as whole as she can. Pity her for the belly aches that she'll get from such foolish moves.

Flights for Andiacuth will be fun for the smaller males, and likely an absolute nightmare for the larger ones. Her love of flying will appear full force when she rises, and her path will be full of twists, turns, spirals, loops and more, and she'll enjoy sending the males on a chase that goes high and low and high again. In the end, when she's caught, it'll only be for that night. She'll show no preference for any particular male, and no continued attachment - her love is for you and you alone

Inspiration

The egg theme this cycle was 'Pop Music' and the Friends or Strangers Egg was created by Zillah. The dragon theme this cycle was 'Birds of Prey', and of all the possibilities, your Andiacuth was based on a Snowy Owl, with some aspects of her personality being drawn from the snowy owl, while others were just selected to make her something that could hopefully mesh well with Devi.

The snowy owl is a large owl, and was first classified in 1758 by Carolus Linnaeus. It is normally found in the northern regions, though it is known to move further south as it is a nomadic creature, and is the official bird of Quebec. Her name comes from the snowy owl's scientific name, Bubo scandiacus.

As always, what is written here is merely ideas - she's yours to play as you wish, and I hope you enjoy her
